Your contribution

• After gradual training and introduction, assume a central role in the operation of our fighter jets
• F/A-18 Perform repair and maintenance of F/A-18 with subsequent specialization on the latest generation F-35 fighter jets
• Perform inspection and maintenance of engines and safety-relevant systems, ranging from engine replacements, to bench tests and tests up to the inspection of cable arrest devices
• Deliver the jets directly to the pilots and handle the related handover after flight
• Occasionally assume special tasks, for example during training abroad, flight incident standby service, large events such as the WEF, or with exercise firefighters

What distinguishes you

• Apprenticeship in a technical field (e.g., automation operator, polymechanic, agricultural machinery mechanic, engine mechanic, automotive mechatronics technician or similar)
• Keen interest in aviation. Experience in the field of aircraft is not an imperative condition
• Disposition to work within a small, cohesive team, reliability and ability to think analytically
• Availability to accompany technical training abroad (2 times per year for 2-3 weeks) and occasionally to perform standby service or night work (seasonal rhythm and individual weeks every year)
• Swiss citizenship and an impeccable certificate of good conduct (security clearance regarding persons)

The Operations Command (Cdo Op) is responsible for all operations and all military deployments of the Swiss Army. It includes among others the Air Force, the Land Forces, the four territorial divisions, the SWISSINT competence center, the special forces command and the military police. About 40 percent of the nearly 2500 employees are civilian employees: from engineers to aircraft mechanics to analysts.
