Job Description ##

The apprentice dial maker evolves in the demanding universe of watchmaking, where precision, meticulousness, and aesthetic sense are essential. You will learn to decorate, print, and enhance watch dials, delicate pieces that require perfect mastery of gestures and techniques. Equipped with good observational skills and great rigor, the apprentice progressively develops the necessary skills to manipulate fragile dials, apply impeccable decorations, and guarantee irreproachable quality.

Main Tasks

Prepare the dials - clean, degrease, and prepare surfaces before decoration operations

Perform printing - carry out printing by pad printing, screen printing, or other techniques specific to the dial

Apply decorations - place markings, logos, indices, or patterns according to aesthetic and technical requirements

Perform varnishing operations - apply layers of protective or decorative varnish while respecting the requested thicknesses and finishes

Control quality - verify alignment, sharpness, color, brilliance, and the absence of defects on the dials

Perform retouching - correct small imperfections or printing or decoration defects

Manipulate dials with precision - work with extremely delicate pieces while respecting cleanliness and handling rules

Use specific tools and machines - progressively master printing, drying, varnishing, and control equipment

Respect aesthetic and technical standards - apply quality standards specific to watchmaking

Collaborate with other workshops - exchange with the decoration, control, and assembly teams to ensure the consistency of the final product

• Manual dexterity - manipulate dials without marking, scratching, or deforming them

• Ability to follow procedures - apply precise instructions for printing, varnishing, or retouching
• Observational skills - detect defects, irregularities, or shade variations
• Taste for teamwork - collaborate with the decoration, control, and assembly workshops
• Reliability and sense of responsibility - guarantee the quality of a central element of the watch
• Curiosity and desire to learn - progress in the mastery of printing, varnishing, and decoration techniques
