Heating Plant Operator

Müve Biel-Seeland AG is the thermal waste recovery plant of the Biel - Seeland region and converts the waste of around 160‘000 inhabitants into electricity, steam and heat. The plants are operated in shift service for 24 hours during 365 days.

Your tasks

In a small shift team, you will control and monitor the waste recovery plant in 4-shift operation. Main tasks are the operation and ensuring of the waste incineration with the help of state-of-the-art process control technology as well as steam, electricity and district heating production. You perform regular inspection rounds for the early detection of malfunctions and rectify them. Furthermore, you independently perform small repairs, cleanings and maintenance work.

What you bring with you

• A manual vocational apprenticeship and associated, basic technical understanding
• Very good PC user skills, preferably experience with process control systems
• Further training as a Heating Plant Operator with federal diploma or the readiness to undertake this further training in the next 2 years
• Enjoyment of a demanding, independent and self-responsible activity in our complex waste recovery plant
• Very good physical condition and resilience
• Flexibility for irregular working hours and working on weekends
