It is responsible for the creation, layout and maintenance of parks, green spaces, streets and squares, communal flower displays, horticultural production, management of playgrounds, urban furniture and fountains, as well as the maintenance of emblematic sites such as Montorge, Valère and Tourbillon. In order to strengthen its team, the Ville de Sion is advertising the position of Horticulturist - landscape specialist creation M/F 80-100% within the Urbanisme et Mobilité service, Parks and Gardens section. Main missions Within the creation sector, you will actively participate in the realization and development of the outdoor layouts of the Ville de Sion. In this capacity, you will notably be required to: * create and renovate green spaces and various landscape layouts; * carry out masonry work related to the landscape profession; * perform plant plantings according to the rules of the art; * create playgrounds, water features as well as automatic irrigation networks; * read and implement layout plans; * use and maintain machines specific to landscaping work, in compliance with safety rules; * occasionally participate in the maintenance work of public green spaces; * assist and replace the team leader in their absence, notably in the management of construction sites and the team; * contribute to the training and support of apprentices. Employment conditions * hold a CFC in horticulture-landscaping; * have completed training in construction site signaling; * demonstrate several years of experience in the field of creation and landscape design; * possess good knowledge of the machines used in the field and their mechanics; * master the reading and execution of plans as well as the precise calculation of surfaces and volumes; * demonstrate autonomy and good team spirit, as well as flexibility, resistance to stress and a keen sense of responsibility; * enjoy transmitting knowledge, notably to apprentices; * be comfortable with standard IT tools as well as with the use of a tablet or a smartphone for preparing reports; * hold a driver's license for motor vehicles; * M1/M2 machine operator and R1 forklift licenses are an asset.
