Kartause Ittingen is one of the leading seminar and cultural centers in Switzerland and offers a highly versatile and exciting environment with hotel, seminar and banquet operations, restaurants, agriculture, viticulture, cheesery, nursery, fish farming, butchery, as well as an offering for supported working and living. It also houses the Kunstmuseum Thurgau, the Ittinger Museum and the center for spirituality and education «tecum».

In the nursery of Kartause Ittingen, within the historic monastery walls, herbs, mints, flowers, vegetables and cut flowers are grown, harvested and processed. The fresh products are delivered directly to the restaurant kitchen or used for decorations in the Kartause. In addition, fruit and herbs are further processed, dried and packaged. This includes, among others, apples, pears, damsons and plums.

The nursery is simultaneously a place of work and development for people with support needs. Together with three specialist employees, three florists and around 15 supported employees, the diverse tasks in production, processing and care are implemented. In the reference person system, the supported employees are guided, accompanied and promoted.

Your tasks

• Planning, organization and implementation of the production processes in the nursery
• Production and care of perennials, herbs, vegetables and cut flowers
• Collaboration in the processing, drying and packaging of fruit and herbs
• Professional guidance, accompaniment and promotion of supported employees in everyday work
• Cooperation with specialist employees as well as with adjacent areas such as agriculture, kitchen and monastery shop
• Ensuring quality, structure and efficiency in work processes
• Collaboration in seasonal work around cultivation, harvest and garden care

What you bring with you

• Training as a perennial gardener EFZ, ornamental plant gardener EFZ or a comparable training
• Joy in the production of high-quality garden and natural products
• Interest or experience in accompanying people with support needs
• Ideally an agogic training or the willingness to complete a corresponding further training
• Independent, responsible and structured way of working
• Teamwork skills, flexibility and a positive basic attitude
