The contribution you can make

• Perform maintenance on portable and hand firearms, infantry weapons, vehicle weapons, including the related stations (on wheeled armored vehicles)
• Carry out periodic checks and work on various weapon systems and accessories according to technical instructions
• Carry out on-site assignments during the return of material from troops (RIDIMA) in the capacity of a specialist regarding technical checks and repairs of weapons, weapon stations, and related accessories
• Provide technical support to troops and third parties during material collection, initial equipment of recruit schools, and discharge of military personnel
• Perform checks and repairs within the scope of personal armament (loaned weapons)

What distinguishes you

• Completed apprenticeship with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training as a gunsmith, polymechanic, equivalent basic mechanical training, or military training as a gunsmith
• Category B driving license; category C or C1E driving licenses as well as a SUVA-recognized forklift license
• Conscientious, structured, and precise way of working
• Customer and solution orientation in the provision of services
• Availability for flexible employment in different locations and team spirit

The Swiss Army Logistics Base (BLEs) is at the disposal of the troops. It provides all logistical services for the Swiss Army and, with its approximately 3500 employees and 12000 militia soldiers, manages the material, systems, and infrastructure of the Swiss Army. In the workshop or in the office, indoors or outdoors: the BLEs offers a wide range of jobs throughout Switzerland and for all tastes.

The Swiss Army employs over 9000 employees within the framework of four military professions and approximately 200 civil professions, in 110 locations throughout the national territory. Furthermore, it provides for new recruits, training apprentices in over 30 professions.
